Two of my colleagues from Sài Gòn recently visited Hà Nội for work and decided to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival here. As a regular at Ngon Sài Gòn, I took the opportunity to introduce them to this popular restaurant located right in the heart of the city.

This year, Ngon Sài Gòn Restaurant is offering a special “Partying Set,” a collection of canapés inspired by rich southern flavours. Besides enjoying the full moon, guests are treated to an array of delightful dishes and cakes that are perfect for the festive occasion.

“The canapés are lovely and fragrant, a perfect blend of flavours,” said one of my colleagues, Bảo Ngọc. She added that the "Partying Set" made for an ideal appetiser, both interesting and delicious.

Apart from enjoying the full moon, guests can enjoy moonish dishes and cakes in the restaurant.

They both agreed that having a moonlit dinner at Ngon Sài Gòn was the right decision.

“When you think of the moon, you might picture the one in the sky. But at Ngon Sài Gòn, you’ll experience moons with southern flavours—an entirely new perspective,” they said.

Guests are checking in at Ngon Sài Gòn Restaurant.

Located in the bustling heart of Hà Nội, the restaurant offers dishes that creatively mirror the moon's shape. Highlights include crescent-shaped fried pancakes with shrimp and pork, and another version featuring seaweed, shrimp, and sesbania sesban flowers.

Staff is preparing everything ready to serve guests.

Other specialties include crispy crab sticky rice, large deep-fried sticky rice balls, and crispy scorched rice served with kho quẹt—a rich dipping sauce made from minced pork, sugar, salt, garlic, and fish sauce.

A young couple enjoys tasting great dishes.

“At Ngon Sài Gòn, we’re treated to familiar images of the moon, reimagined in different, creative dishes crafted by the chefs,” my colleagues remarked.

Almost all foodies to the Ngon Sài Gòn are interested in moonish fried pancake with seaweed shrimp and sesbania sesban flowers.

Phạm Bích Hạnh, the owner of Ngon Sài Gòn said: “We invite our guests to Ngon Sài Gòn to experience a harmonious blend of culinary delights and the autumn moonlight, creating unforgettable moments of love and joy.”

Food lovers will certainly appreciate the traditional Mid-Autumn decorations, while indulging in these unique southern-inspired dishes.

Foodies would be very pleased with traditional colourful decorations for Mid-Autumn while enjoying specialties at Ngon Sài Gòn .

Hạnh also introduced several other standout offerings, such as shrimp salad with red crab eggs; grilled beef over Sài Thành embers and autumn pork paste with young sticky rice; and grilled prawns with seafood sauce, seaweed shrimp salad with sesbania sesban flowers, and autumn salad.

Hot and fragrant beef noodle soup, or phở bò Sài Thành, is also among foodies’ favourite dishes.

To enjoy these specialities while celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, simply visit Ngon Sài Gòn at 59A Huỳnh Thúc Kháng Street, Đống Đa District, or 8 Dã Tượng Street, Hoàn Kiếm District. For reservations, call the hotline at 090 222 3626 --VNS
