The tournament has attracted the participation of eight teams, including Henan of China, Aranmare of Japan, Kuanysh of Kazakhstan, Expressway of the Republic of Korea, Paint Masters of the Philippines, Korabelka of Russia, King Whale Taipei of Taiwan (China), and the national team of Vietnam.
The three opening matches are scheduled to take place on the same day and will see fierce competition between Paint Masters of the Philippines and Expressway of the Republic of Korea, Henan of China and Korabelka of Russia, as well as Vietnam and Kuanysh of Kazakhstan.
The Vietnamese national team have been drawn in Group A alongside the Indonesian national team, Kuanysh VC of Kazakhstan, and Korea Expressway of the Republic of Korea.
Group B includes King Whale Taipei of Taiwan (China), Aranmare Yamagata of Japan, Henan Shuanghui of China, and Kobabelka of Russia.
The teams will play in a round-robin format to select the top four sides who will progress to the semi-final stage.
The tournament was launched back in 2004 and has been since held annually. Last year saw the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team 1 win the tournament after defeating the Vietnam women’s volleyball team 2 in the final match held in Lao Cai province.
