This increase can be attributed to their string of impressive performances over recent months as they became the champions of the NSDF Women's Futsal Championship 2024 international friendly tournament in Thailand in September after four unbeaten matches.
The national team retained its spot in fourth place in Asia, behind Thailand, world No.6 with 1162,17 points; Iran, world No.9 with 1140,99 points; and Japan, world No.10 with 1139,54 points.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese men's futsal team fell one place to 34th spot in the latest FIFA rankings as they lost 3-2 to Kyrgyzstan in the first round of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualification playoffs that ended their hopes of appearing in three consecutive Futsal World Cups.
In Asia, the team dropped to eighth place and remained in third position in Southeast Asia.
The national futsal team, under the management of coach Diego Raul Giustozzi, gathered in Ho Chi Minh City on October 10 to prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024.
Vietnam have been drawn in Group A with Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, and Timor Leste. The two top teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
