In their opening match, Vietnam will face Bhutan on September 23. They will then face Guam, Bangladesh, and Syria on September 25, September 27, and September 29, respectively.
The qualification stage of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2025 taking place from September 21 to September 29 will consist of 45 teams which are divided into five groups.
Following the conclusion of the group, a total of 10 group leaders and five best second-placed teams will win tickets to compete in the final round which will be held in China.
Most notably, the top four teams will then progress through to the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup which is set to take place in Chile next year.
The Vietnamese team have taken part in the Asian tournament a total of nine times. Their best result was making the semi-final round of the AFC U20 Asian Cup back in 2016, thereby earning a place at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.
