The documents were signed at a Vietnam – Singapore Business Roundtable held on March 13, and the signing was witnessed by Party General Secretary To Lam.
As part of the signed documents, Vietnam Airlines will collaborate with ST Engineering Aerospace to enhance aircraft maintenance and repair services, as well as exploring the development of maintenance facilities at Long Thanh International Airport in southern Vietnam.
It is also teaming up with Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited (SATS) to operate the cargo terminal at Long Thanh, aiming to expand international cargo services to over 215 destinations worldwide.
Furthermore, a tripartite collaboration between Vietnam Airlines, SaigonTourist, and APG Group Pte Ltd. is set to offer unique aviation tourism products and advanced payment solutions, helping to enhance travel experience on Vietnam-Singapore routes.
These strategic agreements lay the foundation for constructing large-scale aircraft maintenance hangars equipped with modern technology at Long Thanh International Airport. The goal is to attract international airline partnerships, and position Long Thanh as a reputable destination on the global aviation map.
Singapore has been a strategic market for Vietnam Airlines in Southeast Asia. With 28 weekly flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the airline has served over 7 million passengers since its establishment in 1995, contributing to trade, cultural exchange, and tourism between the two countries.
According to a Vietnam Airlines representative, these strategic collaborations not only lay the groundwork but also serve as a launchpad for Vietnam Airlines to take off at Long Thanh Airport, to develop it into a modern international aviation center capable of competing globally.
