Thousands visit pagodas to pray for peace in the New Year

Thousands of people across many localities nationwide flocked to pagodas to pray for peace on the second day of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet)
Despite spells of cold weather, from early in the morning many families in the central province of Quang Binh and tourists flock to Hoang Phuc pagoda to burn incense and pray for a peaceful New Year.
Hoang Phuc Pagoda is a national relic site and is one of the oldest pagodas in the central region. Located in My Thuy commune of Le Thuy district in Quang Binh province, the site is a famous spiritual destination, attracting people who come to make pilgrimages and pray every New Year.
Every day, between 3,000 and 5,000 people and tourists come to Hoang Phuc Pagoda.
A Buddhist monk delivers lucky money to residents at the beginning of the New Year.
Meanwhile, more than 20,000 people and tourists visit Lien Hoa Pagoda in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on the first day of Tet.
Venerable Thich Minh Phuoc gives luck money to visitors.
Lien Hoa Pagoda boasts an array of beautiful landscapes, with these attracting a large number of people who come to visit and take commemorative photos.
In the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang, cultural and religious areas see a large number of tourists and people visit in the New Year.
Everyone comes to pray for health, peace, luck, and happiness for themselves, their families, and loved ones.
