The 10th International Yoga Day was marked in Sa Pa resort town of the northern province of Lao Cai on June 22, which was associated with the launch of the Sa Pa yoga tours for 2024.

The highlight of the event, one of a series of the activities held across the country to celebrate the 10th International Yoga Day (June 21), was a performance by 500 Vietnamese and foreign yoga trainers and yogis.

It offered a chance for Lao Cai to introduce to domestic and foreign friends the beauty of Sa Pa, a famous tourist attraction with breathtaking natural landscapes and rich cultural values of many ethnic minority groups, which provides a perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating and immersive yoga experience.

Roshan Lepcha from the Indian Embassy in Vietnam said that this year, the International Yoga Day, themed "Yoga for self and society”, aims to emphasise that for the individual, Yoga promotes unity of mind, body and soul, and for society, it brings harmony between humans and nature.

Participants at the event had a chance to enjoy an exhibition of meditation spaces of Sa Pa, and vega food as well as wellness products of Lao Cai.

On the occasion, the province introduced new yoga tours for 2024, which offer visitors yoga and meditation experience at popular local tourist destinations such as Ham Rong tourist site, Fansipan Legend spiritual tourism complex, and Muong Hoa valley.
