The annual programme “Tasteful Europe – Tradition and Quality” was co-organised by the Polish Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, the Association of Butchers and Producers of Processed Meat of the Republic of Poland (SRW RP), the National Union of Groups of Fruit and Vegetable Producers, and other units.
It aims to support the Polish business community operating in the fields of agriculture, food and beverage (F&B) to find new partners and develop international markets. It is also part of long-term efforts to promote European food products to Vietnam.
This year, the programme focused on fresh/chilled/frozen beef and pork, apples and apple products, targeting to bring high-quality European products at reasonable prices to the Vietnamese market.
Tomasz Parzybut. CEO of the SRW RP said as Vietnamese people have increasingly higher incomes and pay more attention to health issues, they are interested in high-quality products and imported goods, noting that it is an opportunity for food products that meet global standards to enter the Vietnamese market.
Polish enterprises hope to seize the opportunity and exploit favourable conditions to promote their products in Vietnam, he said.
Piotr Harasimowicz, head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that Vietnam and Poland are important partners of each other, with the import and export value of Polish food products to Vietnam increasing steadily in recent years.
However, many Polish food products imported into the Vietnamese market must go through intermediary channels, so Poland wants to open up direct import channels through trade promotion, he said, stressing that the "Europe tasteful - Tradition and Quality" is one of the activities in this direction.
