Pedestrian street to be built in Lang Co
The road is intended to help the night-based economy and tourism development for Lang Co Beach and the Lap An lagoon areas.
The pedestrian road will stretch from Nguyen Van Street in Lang Co Town and connect with National Highway 1. There will be flowerpots, trees and a square and stage area along the route.
The project will cost VND62 billion (USD2.4 million).
Nguyen Van Street is currently one of the nicest streets in Lang Co Town, running along Lap An Lagoon. The street is home to many eateries offering local specialities, making it a popular destination for tourists.
The pedestrian street is slated to be put into operation on May 10.
Many activities will be held in Lang Co Town on May 10-12, including culinary festivals, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing festivals, traditional boat racing, paragliding and low-altitude fireworks displays according to the Phu Loc District People's Committee.
The event is intended to mark the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being recognised as a World Beautiful Bay by the Worldbays Club.
