She scored a total of 587 points, just behind Veronika Major (Hunagary), Manu Bhaker (India) and Haniyeh Rostamiyan (Iran) who correspondingly scored 592, 590 and 588 points.
The Vietnamese shooter got off to a good start in the rapid round with perfect 100 points in the first series. The next series saw her get 98 points from 8 10s and 2 9s. In the last 10-shot series, the Vietnamese shooter continued to show stable performance with 9 shots inner 10s.
Vinh shot 297 points in the rapid round, 7 points more than the precision round she competed earlier on the same day.
With a total of 587 points from the two rounds, Thu Vinh qualified for the final alongside Veronika Major (Hunagary), Manu Bhaker (India), Haniyeh Rostamiyan (Iran), Nan Zhao (China), Jiin Yang (Republic of Korea), Camille Jedrzejewski (France) and Katelyn Morgan Abeln (USA).
The women’s 25m pistol competition is scheduled to start at 09:30 a.m. (local time).
