The province will continue to host a variety of tourism events, including the Sa Pa Brocade and Flower Festival, the Sa Pa Snow Festival, and the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival, alongside other engaging activities.
Additionally, Lao Cai’s tourism sector plans to pilot outdoor visual art shows and develop agri-tourism products linked to health and wellness tourism.
Notably, the province aims to enhance international tourism cooperation with Chinese localities along the border by launching the "Two Countries, Six Destinations" model tour, covering Kunming and Honghe (China), as well as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh (Vietnam).
Lao Cai will also organize an international cycling race titled "One Track – Two Countries" and establish an inter-regional tourism route showcasing terraced fields across Mu Cang Chai (Yen Bai), Sa Pa (Lao Cai), and Yuanyang (China).
In 2025, the province targets welcoming 10 million visitors, with an estimated tourism revenue of VND44,750 billion.
