Ky Duyen to vie for Miss Universe 2024 crown

Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, the winner of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, will go on to represent the country at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, due to take place in Mexico on November 14.

This announcement was made during a send-off ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 24.

The 28-year-old beauty stands at 1.76 metres tall with body measurements of 86-60-94 cm. She first rose to prominence after being crowned Miss Vietnam 2014.

Duyen has acquired experience as a member of the judging panel and as a coach of many beauty competitions, including The Look Vietnam 2017, Vietnam Supermodel 2018, Miss Sports 2022, and The Face Vietnam 2023.

Miss Universe was first held in 1952 and is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants alongside Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.

This year marks the 73rd edition of the pageant. It will be held in Mexico this November and will feature the participation of 125 contestants from across the world. The current Miss Universe is Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.

Vietnamese beauties have recorded plenty of outstanding achievements at Miss Universe throughout the years, including Nguyen Thuy Lam who finished among the Top 15 in 2008, H’Hen Nie who made the Top 5 in 2018, Hoang Thuy who was in the Top 20 in 2019, Khanh Van who finished in the Top 21 in 2020, and Kim Duyen who recorded a Top 16 finish in 2021.
