HÀ NỘI — A student from Nguyễn Tất Thành High School in Hà Nội Vũ, Minh Anh, has donated VNĐ121 million (US$5,000) to female students of the Hà Nội Blind Association and help people in the flood-affected area in the northern provinces.

The high school student initiated a community project titled 'One drawing - a million joys' with 32 artworks from the past three years, aiming to express her love for art and respect for the lives and souls of Vietnamese women.

The funds raised from the successful auction were used to pay for scholarships of 40 female students from the Hà Nội Blind Association, as well supporting those hurt by Typhoon Yagi.

She named her collection 'Women in Folk Songs and My Eyes' inspired by images of women, countryside themes and Vietnamese folk songs and proverbs.

"I am always aware that women are facing difficult circumstances, struggling day and night to make a living, yet they still possess hidden beauty that brings happiness to their families and those around them," Minh Anh said.

"This is especially true for visually impaired women, whose lives are even more challenging. Although they cannot see the light and colours of reality, I believe that the light from the soul and heart of each person always shines brightly."

The Principal of Nguyễn Tất Thành High School, Phạm Sỹ Cường, expressed great pride in his student for her profound understanding of life and her use of talent to support many individuals facing challenges.

"She chose a meaningful and deeply Vietnamese theme, folk poetry and mothers, expressing it through her feelings, talent, and modern perspectives," he said. — VNS
