Body of six-month-old baby washed away in Hà Giang flood found

HÀ GIANG – The body of a six-month-old baby, swept away by floods caused by Typhoon Yagi on September 10 in Dì Thàng Village, Bản Nhùng Commune, Hoàng Su Phì District, Hà Giang Province, was found at the Sông Chảy 3 Hydropower Plant, approximately 25km from the landslide site.

Lý Chòi Nhàn, Vice Chairman of the Hoàng Su Phì District People’s Committee, said that on Wednesday afternoon, local residents discovered the body of baby C.T.T.A while fishing, about 25km from where the landslide occurred.

Following the family’s wishes, police completed an autopsy and handed over the baby’s body to the family for funeral arrangements in line with local customs.

On September 10, heavy rains and thunderstorms battered Hoàng Su Phì District, leading to the baby's disappearance in the floods and causing serious injuries to another child.

The prolonged heavy rains also caused significant damage to homes, crops, and major transportation routes in the area. – VNS
