The ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC) recently witnessed a vibrant display of solidarity and camaraderie as the Embassy of Indonesia, serving as the rotating Chair of ANDC, hosted the ANDC Sports and Family Day at its headquarters in New Delhi.

The event drew nearly 300 diplomats and family members from ASEAN embassies across the Indian capital.

In her opening remarks, Indonesian Ambassador to India Hagniningtyas Krisnamurthi highlighted the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and mutual support among the ASEAN community. The event offers an opportunity to connect and strengthen their bonds, she declared.

The day was filled with an exciting array of games, carefully curated to engage participants of all ages. Children delighted spectators with their agility and coordination, tackling classic challenges such as spoon-and-marble races, sponge relays, and pencil-in-bottle contest.

Meanwhile, diplomats and their spouses immersed themselves in team-building activities that demanded cooperation and unity. Highlights included the hilarious yet challenging sarong dressing, intense tug-of-war face-offs, thrilling wooden clog races, and ever-popular water balloon tosses.

As the day drew to a close, the ASEAN family in New Delhi came together to enjoy a spread of traditional dishes from member countries.

With Indonesia's rotating ANDC membership set to conclude in December, the event stood as a testament to the power of community and the unbreakable spirit of ASEAN unity.
