HÀ NỘI The fourth ASEAN Graphic Painting Competition and Exhibition which Việt Nam is hosting, is expected to take place in the northern coastal city of Hải Phòng in December this year, according to the event's organisers.
Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) have been assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organise the event.
The competition launched in late May, is open to all authors from ASEAN member countries of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Việt Nam.
Entree works should contain topics and creative content about life, people, natural landscapes, peaceful countries, solidarity, cooperation, friendship and contemporary life issues that are of common concern and sharing in ASEAN countries.
Authors with works created from 2020 to present are eligible to participate in the event with the time to receive entree photo files starting from August 1 to August 31, 2024.
This year's competition will be "judged" by an Art Council consisting of seven members who are prestigious professionals in graphic design in Việt Nam and one to three world experts, according to the organising board.
The board also revealed different tyoes of awards including one first prize; three second prizes, five thirds prizes and seven encouragements.
Each author will receive only one prize of the exhibition and the winning works will be announced and awarded on the opening day.
The organising boad has announced it will sponsor round-trip airfare, food and accommodation for foreign winners travelling to Việt Nam to receive their prizes.
Besides official awards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Việt Nam, the organising board said it will mobilise more social funds for additional prizes named under the sponsors.
The winning works will be displayed at the exhibition and will receive certificates and awarding money. Vietnamese artists will receive exhibition fees according to current regulations of the State.
After the exhibition is closed, the organisers will be responsible for returning the works to the authors in ASEAN countries. VNS
