The map is one of the three local-level initiatives that Da Lat pledged to carry out when joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music.
With a vivid and understandable design, it features typical historical, cultural, and artistic destinations of Da Lat, helping to introduce outstanding venues of cultural and musical performances and scenic landscapes of the city.
The map is also meant to connect artists, artistic destinations, and the public to tell interesting stories about history, culture and creativity, thus contributing to sustainable tourism and art development in this Creative City of Music.
Both paper and digital versions of the map are available for free.
Addressing the launch, UNESCO Representative to Vietnam Jonathan Baker highly valued Da Lat’s active building of an action plan for implementing its commitments to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
The art tourism map will help shape the city’s cultural and creative ecosystem and be useful for travellers, he said, noting that it can also assist authorities to better bring into play heritage values and creative spaces.
Da Lat officially became a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music on October 31, 2023. The network participation is considered a chance for it to capitalise on local resources and advantages to establish its brand and popularise its image among international friends./
