The programme, which ended on June 30, drew the participation of 16 students from Chungcheongnam province and students and HCMCYU members from Nguyen Trung Truc High School in Ben Luc and Bo De Phuong Duy School in Thu Thua.
Through the six-day event, participants from the two sides engaged in many activities such as decorating reading rooms, planting trees, visiting the Long An Monument Park, and learning how to cook Korean and Vietnamese dishes.
These activities are expected to help the youths understand more about each other's cultural traditions and customs as well as enable them to feel the joy when bringing happiness to the community.
Yu Jison from the RoK said that through a short but meaningful time, the participants learned about the cultures of the two countries, shared their dreams and created valuable memories. She hoped that volunteer activities and cultural exchanges will continue to be carried out in the future.
Deputy Secretary of the provincial HCMCYU committee Pham Van Hau believed that the success of the programme will be an important premise for both sides to organise more joint activities, thereby contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and RoK in general and between young people of Long An and ChungCheongnam in particular.
