Created in 1936, the 43 x 29 centimeter work Reverie (Mộng mơ) depicts a beautiful girl. The artist used ink and colour on the silk painting.

Tran Van Can's work has been offered at international auction multiple times, with realised prices ranging from US$986 to US$340,593, depending on the size of the artwork. His painting Le Retour du Marché was auctioned at US$340,593 in Paris in 2018.

Meanwhile, the painting Dans la montagne (Trên núi) by Mai Trung Thu, another famous Vietnamese painter, ranked second at Aguttes' auction, changing hands for EUR241,460. The work was painted in 1959.

Renowned Vietnamese painters Vu Cam Dam and Le Pho also had their paintings displayed at the auction.
