The results of the draw were announced by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) on September 27.
Nine participating teams in the regional tournament have been divided into two groups competing in a round-robin format, and first- and second-placed teams of each group will progress to the semi-final round.
Playing strong teams like Thailand and Malaysia presents a huge challenge for Vietnam attempting to advance to the next round as one of the group’s best two teams.
Group A sees the presence of Thailand, Malaysia, Timor-Leste, Brunei, and Vietnam.
Indonesia, Myanmar, Australia, and Cambodia make Group B.
Vietnamese players are scheduled to gather together in Ho Chi Minh City on October 10. The players, coached by Diego Giustozzi, will take part in a training camp and play two friendly matches in Thailand.
The ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024 is set to take place in Thailand from November 2 to 10.
