During the working sessions held alongside representatives of Mexican agencies and organizations, Ambassador Hai highlighted the achievements recorded in the economic, trade, and investment fields over the past 40 years of the nation’s renewal process with average GDP growth reaching between 6% and 6.5%.
In particular, Vietnamese GDP scale last year reached US$430 billion, thereby ranking the 34th in the world according to the rankings of the UK's Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).
With growth momentum being maintained until 2038, Vietnamese GDP scale is likely to grow to reach US$1,559 billion, a factor in allowing the nation to be among the 25 largest economies in the world.
With regards to investment, Ambassador Hai pointed out that thanks to attractive incentive policies, Vietnam has become a leader in terms of attracting foreign investment among emerging economies.
Most notably, the nation attracted US$27.3 billion in FDI during the 10-month period, up 1.9% on-year.
The Vietnamese diplomat also hailed Vietnam-Mexico bilateral ties across a variety of areas such as politics, economics, trade, culture, education, and tourism, noting that trade exchanges between the two countries will continue to grow strongly as both sides are both members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
For his part, Governor of Zacatecas state David Monreal Ávila affirmed that the visit served to contribute to promoting the friendly relationship between the two sides, especially in key areas such as economics and education.
He revealed that moving towards the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties ahead in 2025, the Zacatecas state will continue to create the optimal conditions possible for Vietnamese businesses, as well as enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
As part of their trip to the Mexican state, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Education and Cultural Cooperation with the aim of bolstering the long-standing partnership between UAZ and Vietnamese higher education institutions.
