Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received Chen Yun, chairman of the China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC), in Hanoi on October 14, expecting to receive Chinese assistance in developing Vietnam’s high-speed rail system.

Ha spoke highly of China’s experience in developing its high-speed rail industry and suggested that CREC actively participate in standard gauge railway infrastructure projects connecting Vietnam and China in the coming time, helping to realise common perceptions of the two countries’ top leaders.

“The CREC-invested projects in Vietnam must meet the top technical standards and regulations of China, serving as a symbol of friendship and a testament to the quality and brand of CREC,” the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

He expressed his confidence that CREC will demonstrate the quality and technological expertise of China when taking part in railway infrastructure projects in Vietnam, ensuring environmental friendliness, optimizing transportation distances, guaranteeing maximum safety for passengers and goods, and applying smart technology in operation and management.

Chun for his part expressed CREC’s desire to engage in major railway infrastructure investment projects in Vietnam, including providing services and consultations, and implementing construction with a commitment to top quality and progress.

CREC is ready to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in research, technology transfer, development, and training personnel for the high-speed rail industry, said Chun.
