Of the squad, three out of 30 Vietnamese football players with the highest transfer value include Nguyen Fillip valued at EUR550,000, as well as Nguyen Hoang Duc and Pham Tian Hai each worth EUR400,000.
The national team were followed by the Thai team with a total estimated market value of EUR7.35 million and Malaysia with EUR6.83 million.
Elsewhere, Indonesia will not make use of the EUR24.5-million team that was used to play during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Instead, they will only send a U21 team that consists of 33 players with a total market value EUR 4.23 million.
Vietnam will take on Indonesia alongside the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos in Group B of the 2024 AFF Cup.
Group A will see Thailand play Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and the play-off winners between Brunei and Timor Leste.
Indonesia have been Vietnam’s archrivals in recent times. Vietnam lost 1-0 to Indonesia and were subsequently eliminated in the group stage at the 2023 Asian Cup. Most recently, they suffered a 3-0 defeat to their archrivals at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi in the second qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The ASEAN Cup 2024 is scheduled to take place from December 8 to January 21.
