According to the results, the nation’s two leading players Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son drew their matches against Nikita Vitiugov and Michael Adams, respectively.

Showing his determination to the team’s cause, Le Tuan Minh successfully secured a critical win over Luke McShane to ensure an overall tie for the Vietnamese men's chess team.
Following this result, Vietnam is currently ranked 10th in the overall table and will continue to face off against Spain in the 10th round.
In the women's category, the Vietnamese chess team faced Bulgaria in the ninth round and enjoyed a 2.5-1.5 victory.
Pham Le Thao Nguyen overcame Antoaneta Stefanova, who was the Women's World Chess Champion from 2004 to 2006, after 61 moves. Elsewhere, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong also defeated Beloslava Krasteva.
Vo Thi Kim Phung was held to a draw with Nurgyul Salimova, while Luong Phuong Hanh suffered failure against Viktoria Radeva.
This marked the third consecutive win recorded by the Vietnamese women’s chess team, helping them to climb up to 11th place.
Moving forward, they will next play against host Hungary in the 10th round.
