The first flight, coded VN552, departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 23:00 p.m. (local time) on June 25 and arrived at Tianfu International Airport in Chengdu at 2:05 a.m. (local time) on June 26.
The return flight, coded VN553, took off from Chengdu at 3:05 a.m. (local time) and landed in Hanoi at 4:20 a.m. (local time) on June 26.
There will be a total of four flights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Chengdu is famous for a number of attractions such as Jinli Ancient Street, Anshun Bridge, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and Jiuzhaigou - a world heritage site recognised by UNESCO.
People from Chengdu will have the chance to explore Hanoi, which is home to a large number of cultural and historical sites and craft villages along with a range of beautiful natural landscapes.
