The organisers Sports Authority of Vietnam (SAV) revealed details on the eighth edition of the Cup on November 11 in Hanoi.
Competitors will vie for titles such as Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Young Athlete of the Year, Athlete with Disability of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, and Most Favoured Athlete, among others.
Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh, who ranked fourth at the women’s 10-metre air pistol finale at the 2024 Paris Olympics and volleyball star Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen who won the FIVB Challenger Cup's best scorer and best spiker titles, are among the outstanding athletes to compete for the cup.
The Vietnamese futsal team, who were awarded the runner-up title of the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024, are the favourite candidate for the award.
The Cup will honour one top candidate in 11 different categories whilst awarding a big bonus of VND750 million to the winners.
The Victory Cup was first held in 2015 and was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, the annual Cup has affirmed its prime position as a leading national sporting award.
