Nearly 3,000 Vietnamese and foreign youths came together to join International Youth Day which opened on November 9 in Hanoi.

The third International Youth Day features a wide range of cultural and sporting activities such as the "Aodai Dance" Challenge, the International Youth Friendship Marathon with the theme of "For a Peaceful World", and the National Culture Discovery Contest.

Chu Hong Minh, secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, emphasized that the event will create opportunities for cultural exchanges between young people of different countries, thereby further promoting international relations with international youth from around the region.

The festival, co-organised by the Hanoi Youth Union and has the support of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), is also a testament to the spirit of peace, friendship, and integration of young people in the capital, while simultaneously elevating the image of the nation and Hanoians, Minh said.

The event will contribute to affirming Hanoi as a safe and hospitable destination which has a positive learning environment for friends from all over the world, he added.
