Nguyen Phuong Anh, a student from the northcentral province of Thanh Hoa, was crowned Miss Tourism Identity Vietnam 2024 at the grand finale held in Quang Ngai city on August 14 evening.

The 20-year-old girl, who stands at 1.73 metres tall with body measurement of 85-62-90cm, won the judge’s heart for her natural beauty, her charm in costumes and especially her ability to popularize Vietnam’s image abroad.

Answering the judge’s question about the country’s tourism, Phuong Anh said she would introduce Vietnam as a beautiful, peace-loving country with many landscapes, historical relics, a long-standing culture, rich cuisine, and friendly and hospitable people.

The beauty is currently studying beauty care facility at Hanoi College of Medicine. She left the contest with a VND2 billion crown that draws inspiration from the lotus – a national flower that symbolises purity and strength to overcome challenges.

The winner will spend two years taking part in a diverse range of activities to further promote the country’s culture and tourism.

The beauty contest was first launched in July, aiming to seek ambassadors to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism to international friends.

A total of 30 contestants were selected to take part in the final night held in Quang Ngai city on August 14. They competed in Ao Dai (traditional long dress), swimsuit, and evening gown parts, before the Top 8 were chosen for the Q&A segment.
