In the first five months of the year, Vietnam welcomed nearly 530,000 visitors from Taiwan (China), marking a 110.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Approximately 45% of these visitors traveled to tourist destinations in the central region such as Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang.

Vu Tien Dung, Head of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, said: “The number of Vietnamese tourists choosing Taiwan as their favorite destination is also increasing. We believe that the number of visitors between the two sides this year will exceed the peak of the pre-pandemic period."

The Da Nang Department of Tourism reported that in the first five months of 2024, accommodation establishments in Da Nang served nearly 3.78 million visitors, an increase of more than 22% over the same period in 2023 and over 37% compared to the same period in 2019.

For the Taiwanese market (China) specifically, visitors to Da Nang accounted for 10.8% of the international visitor market structure and ranked second among the top 10 international visitor markets to Da Nang in the first five months of 2024.

The three localities of Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Nam recently coordinated to organize a tourism promotion event in Taipei, Taiwan (China) with the theme "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage."

Within the framework of the program, the three localities of Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam introduced guests to typical tourism products, focusing on in-depth products suitable for Taiwanese visitors' tastes, such as beach resort tourism, cultural tourism, cuisine, shopping, spa, MICE tourism, golf, wedding tourism, and event programs.

This initiative provides an opportunity to engage, exchange information, and offer tourism products and services to partners, promoting bilateral visitor exchange between the parties.
