Retail prices of petrol products kept falling in a new price adjustment cycle, starting 3pm on September 5 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, following their fall a week ago.

Accordingly, the price of RON95-III dropped by VND282 to VND20,827 per litre, while that of E5 RON 92 biofuel was also revised down by VND353 to a maximum of VND19,979 per litre.

The prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene declined by VND385 and VND34 to VND18,092 per litre and VND18,724 per litre, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mazut 180CST 3.5S was sold at no more than VND15,155 per kilogram, down by VND407.

For the latest price adjustment, the two ministries decided not to extract the petrol price stabilization fund.

According to the two ministries, the global oil market for the current price adjustment cycle from August 29 to September 4) was impacted by major factors such as an expected increase in oil supply from Libya and OPEC+ countries in the near future, continued weak oil demand from China, and ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

These factors they said caused fluctuations in global oil prices in recent days, with mixed increases and decreases, but the prices were mainly on a downward trajectory.
