Retail petrol and oil prices down in latest adjustment

Retail sale prices of oil and petrol were all adjusted down from 3 p.m. on August 22 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance.

The price of RON95-III, the most commonly used fuel in Vietnam, dropped by VND540 to VND21,310 per litre.

The price of E5 RON 92 biofuel was also revised down by VND460 to a maximum of VND20,420 per litre.

Elsewhere, the prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were capped at VND18,770 per litre and VND19,140 per litre, decreasing by VND460 and VND430 per litre, respectively.

Meanwhile, Mazut 180CST 3.5S was sold at no more than VND15,750 per kilogram, falling by VND490.

For the latest price adjustment, the two ministries decided not to extract the petrol price stabilization fund. This has marked the 44th time the petrol price stabilization fund has not been used since October 2023.

Since the beginning of this year, petrol prices have undergone 33 adjustments, with 17 times up and 16 times down. Meanwhile, oil prices have experienced 15 times up and 18 times down.
