The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will present a Japanese contemporary dance performance this November entitled “Fusion of light, sound, image, and body” by acclaimed Japanese choreographer and dancer Hiroaki Umeda.

Umeda will be gracing the Vietnam Youth Theater in Hanoi on November 16 and 17 to showcase a mesmerizing performance featuring two of his groundbreaking dance pieces “While going to a condition” and “Intensional Particle”.

Known for his innovative approach to dance coupled with his ability to blend physical movement with digital elements, Umeda’s work promises to be a thought-provoking and visually stunning experience.

Umeda is a choreographer and a multidisciplinary artist who is now recognised as one of the leading figures of the Japanese avant-garde art scene. His work is acknowledged for its highly holistic artistic methodology along with a strong digital background, which considers not only physical elements such as dance, but also optical, sonal, sensorial and, above all, spatiotemporal components as part of the choreography.

As one of the leading figures of the Japanese avant-garde art scene, Umeda has captivated audiences worldwide with his unique style and profound exploration of time, space, and the human body. During his long career, he has received numerous awards, including an Honorary Mention at Prix Ars Electronica in 2010.

Free tickets are available and registration is required via https://bit.ly/umeda-vn-perf

Ticket reservations are accepted starting from midday on November 5.

Also, a dance workshop by Umeda is scheduled as a side event, according to details given by the organisers.
