The Me Linh Flower Festival 2024 is poised to take place as the northern region’s second largest event of its kind from December 26 to 29 in Me Linh district, roughly 27km from the city centre.
Me Linh flower village is famous for having grown a variety of flowers for decades. The village now provides fresh flowers for the capital and other neighbouring northern localities. Local gardeners give special care to flowers that should come into full bloom on time for the flower festival. The second flower festival will feature a dazzling array of floral displays that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern lighting technology to bring a stunning space to visitors. Besides roses, many other types of flowers are also grown in the village to prepare for the festival. Beyond the floral displays, the festival will offer a number of exciting community activities aimed at honouring traditional craftsmanship and promoting tourism. The opening ceremony of the festival, due on December 26, is expected to attract many famous singers and will be live broadcast on Hanoi Television. The 15-minute fireworks show will start immediately after the opening ceremony. Highlights of the festival will include a flower bicycle decoration contest, a flower painting competition, and an Ao Dai (traditional long dress) fashion show, among others. Many types of flowers are blooming in preparation for the festival. Dubbed as the capital of roses in Hanoi, Me Linh district will host the second mass scale event in the northern region of Vietnam. The festival will also feature a trade promotion fair showcasing local agricultural products, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rich cultural and economic values of the northern region.
