In the opening match against Laos, Hai Long delivered a stunning volley to break the deadlock.
“Bui Tien Dung’s long ball from deep found its way to Nguyen Hai Long, who timed his run to perfection and unleashed a thunderous left-footed volley into the top corner to kickstart Vietnam’s campaign. Xaysavath Souvanhnasok had absolutely no chance”, ASEAN United FC wrote in its article.
Elsewhere, naturalized player of Brizilian origin Nguyen Xuan Son scored his second goal in Vietnam’s 5-0 win over Myanmar.
The website stressed that Nguyen Xuan Son had a dream debut for the Golden Star Warriors with a man-of-the-match performance in a 5-0 rout of Myanmar.
It shared that the striker, having already bagged his maiden international goal, grabbed his second of the night with a wonderful solo effort.
“The 27-year-old brilliantly headed down a long ball to Nguyen Tien Linh’s path. After receiving the return, he left three defenders in his wake and displayed impeccable ball control inside the box before rifling an unstoppable strike into the far corner to make it 4-0”, ASEAN United FC noted.
The ASEAN United FC also honoured other great goals scored by Abdel Kader Coulibaly of Cambodia, Syafiq Ahmad of Malaysia, Joao Pedro of Timor-Leste, Maung Maung Lwin of Myanmar, Sandro Reyes of the Philippines, Shawal Anuar of Singapore, Faris Ramli of Singapore, and Patrik Gustavsson of Thailand.
