HCM CITY — Chợ Rẫy Hospital in HCM City, the largest public hospital in the southern region of Việt Nam, has been given the National Quality Gold Award for its continued efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services.
It is the first time a public hospital in the country has received this title.
“This award is a testament to the solidarity and efforts of the hospital’s medical staff in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment services, optimising management processes and building a comprehensive care environment for patients," said Dr. Nguyễn Tri Thức, Deputy Minister of Health.
“It is a driving force for the hospital to make more breakthroughs in the future and contribute to the country’s medicine development,” Thức, who is also in charge of management and operations of Chợ Rẫy Hospital. “The hospital will focus on efforts to further optimise the treatment process, develop human resources and promote scientific research activities.”
To achieve the gold award, a hospital is required to meet many strict criteria on management capacity, operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
The annual National Quality Awards that belong to the Global Performance Excellence Award (GPEA) of the Asia-Pacific Quality Organisation are granted by the Prime Minister to organisations and businesses that have outstanding achievements in production, business, and services.
