Vietnamese and Indonesian firms expand trade connectivity

The event offered an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to promote their products, gain greater insights into the actual needs of the Indonesian market, while Indonesian firms learnt more about the Vietnamese electromechanical industry and local reliable products which have been exported to many countries around the world.
Upon addressing the event, Pham The Cuong, Vietnam Trade Counselor in Indonesia, emphasised that with good political relations, as well as rising trade and investment activities, both countries can expand trade across multiple fields such as the mechanical and electrical industry, textilesm food, seafood, digital technology, and artificial intelligence.
Cuong went on to affirm that Vietnam stands ready to welcome all foreign investors, especially Indonesian financiers who could play an important role.
For his part, Edwin Setiawan Tjie, chairman of the Vietnam Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), assessed that Indonesia's infrastructure development projects are opening up a wealth of opportunities specifically for Vietnamese enterprises.
With its strategic location coupled with a large population, Indonesia is also a huge market for products and services for Vietnamese firms, he said.
Meanwhile, Vietnam makes up one of Indonesia's closest and most promising neighbouring countries, thanks to its strong economic growth.
Therefore, the two sides are encouraged to work together to seek ways in a bid to maximise the potential for economic and investment co-operation, including in the fields of electricity and mechanics, he added
