This assessment was made by Nguyen Minh Tien, director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, while unveiling the initial results of the Vietnam National Pavilion at the prestigious expo.
The Vietnamese pavilion showcases a variety of unique and exquisite handicraft products, including silk, lacquerware, ceramics, horn, paper, wood, and leather handicrafts, as well as environmentally friendly and recycled products made from materials like loofah and denim. The pavilion also displays One Commune, One Product (OCOP) products such as tea, coffee, dried fruits, black garlic, turmeric powder, cashews, coconut water products, and rice noodles.
Tien emphasised that the fair helps Vietnamese localities, businesses and OCOP producers to promote their cultural, culinary, and tourism images, expanding their customer network in Italy and Europe.
Furthermore, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, a delegation of local businesses conducted field trips to several typical handicraft and food production facilities in Milan, Rome, and other neighbouring regions in Italy.
They also engaged with the Handicraft Federation of Vicenza city and the fair organizers to understand the market needs for OCOP, handicraft, and food products from Vietnam, aiming to foster trade cooperation in Europe.
This year’s expo witnessed the participation of nearly 2,800 businesses from 90 countries around the world. The expo is expected to welcome more than one million visitors in 10 days.
