A winning streak for Vietnam during training camp in RoK ahead of ASEAN Cup

Facing the second-string lineup of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, coach Kim Sang-sik continued to experiment with different tactical setups in each line to find the best lineup for the national team ahead of the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

Quang Hai opened the scoring with a goal from his central midfield position. Striker Dinh Thanh Binh in place of Nguyen Tien Linh doubled the lead with a close-range finish. In the final moments of the match, debutant Doan Ngoc Tan assisted Do Duy Manh to seal the victory with a 3-1 scoreline. The only goal conceded by Vietnam was from a penalty.

Kim used to play for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and later coached the team. As the FC had a play-off match on the same day, they fielded a team of young players for the friendly against Vietnam.

Vietnam won all three of their friendly matches in the RoK, scoring 7 goals and conceding just one. Midfielder Quang Hai was the top scorer with two goals.

The national team will return home on December 3 and will be joined by some players from Nam Dinh FC. The squad will then be reduced to approximately 26 players to register for the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

They will travel to Laos on December 6 to prepare for their opening match of the 2024 ASEAN Cup against Laos three days later.
