HÀ NỘI —The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has reported that early on Tuesday, tropical storm Toraji intensified into storm number 8 while moving northwestward at speeds of 10-15 km per hour in the East Sea.
Accompanied by strong winds reaching level 6, with gusts up to level 8 near Lý Sơn Island in Quảng Ngãi Province, the storm originated from a tropical depression.
As of 4 am on Tuesday, the storm was centered at 18.5°N latitude and 118.9°E longitude in the northern East Sea, with winds blowing at level 10 (89-102 km per hour) and gusts reaching level 12.
