For international routes, four Vietnamese airlines, namely Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Vietravel Airlines, and Bamboo Airways, as well as some 72 foreign airlines, are operating a total of 2,720 round-trip flights per week throughout the winter schedule, starting from October 27 to March 29, 2025.
During this period, Vietnamese airlines will run 1,013 round-trip flights per week while foreign airlines will operate 1,707 round-trip flights per week, an increase of 152 and 236 flights per week, respectively, compared to the summer flight schedule this year.
Local airlines have been operating a total of 98 regular international routes to 20 countries and territories, an increase of six routes compared to the summer flight schedule.
Meanwhile, foreign airlines from 30 countries and territories launching regular international flights to Vietnam are operating passenger or cargo flights on 124 routes, an increase of three routes compared to the summer flight schedule.
For domestic flights, Vietnamese airlines are operating 45 routes connecting 22 local airports in the country.
In terms of the winter flight schedule, Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, and Da Nang are the airports which will have the highest frequency and intensity of operations.
Along with the regular winter 2024 flight schedule licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), local airlines are developing plans to increase operations on domestic routes to meet air travel demand during peak periods, such as the New Year and the Lunar New Year in 2025.
CAAV has also required air carriers to increase the size of their fleets, adjust landing and take-off times, and arrange night flights in order to meet the travel needs of people during the upcoming holidays based on existing aviation infrastructure and security and safety work.
