Two local beauties depart for Miss International and Miss Universe pageants

Vietnamese representatives Thanh Thuy and Ky Duyen left Ho Chi Minh City on October 28 for Japan and Mexico as they head to compete for titles at the Miss International and Miss Universe pageants.
Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, a 21-year-old student from Da Nang, first rose to prominence after being crowned as the winner of the Miss Vietnam 2022 competition.
The Miss Vietnam 2022 winner travels to the pageant with separate pieces of luggage weighing a total of 150kg.
First launched back in 1960, Miss International represents one of the four largest international beauty pageants, alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. The grand finale of the Miss International 2024 pageant is scheduled to take place on November 12 in Tokyo, Japan.
Many people come to see off Thanh Thuy ahead of the global beauty contest.
Other beauty queens are present to bid farewell to Thanh Thuy at the airport, wishing her good luck during competition.
At the same time, Vietnamese beauty Ky Duyen departs for Miss Universe 2024 which will be held in Mexico.
Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, the winner of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024, stands at 1.76 metres tall with body measurements of 86-60-94 cm. The 28-year-old beauty first came to the public’s attention after being crowned Miss Vietnam 2014.
Her parents are also present to see her off at the airport.
Miss Universe was first held back in 1952 and this year marks the 73rd edition of the pageant. Its grand final is scheduled to take place in Mexico on November 17 and will feature the participation of 125 contestants from across the world.
