Phu Quoc ranks second in Asia’s top 10 best islands

Phu Quoc island in the southern province of Kien Giang has ranked in second place in the list of the top 10 best islands in Asia as part of the Readers’ Choice Award 2024 by the New York-based travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler.

This marks the third time that Phu Quoc island has won the title with 95.36 out of 100 points. Last year it finished in eighth position on the list.

Covering a total area of 567 square kilometres and being home to 180,000 people, Phu Quoc in the southern province of Kien Giang is blessed with both wild and natural beauty.

It features a tropical monsoon climate and has two seasons, the dry season which takes place from November to April and the rainy season from May to October. The average temperature on Phu Quoc is 28 degrees Celsius, which allows visitors to enjoy the island’s beauty at any time of the year.

The island is also home to a marine sanctuary and a national park which is famous for its array of trekking activities.

It was honoured by foreign media outlets and a number of internationally renowned magazines, including Condé Nast Traveler, Lonely Planet, Travel Lemming-website, Channel News Asia-Singapore, and The Week.

Rounding off the list of the top 10 is Bali of Indonesia, Koh Samui of Thailand, Langkawi and Penang of Malaysia, Phuket and Koh Lanta of Thailand, the Andaman Islands of India, Sri Lanka, and Lombok of Indonesia.
