A new Military History Museum in Hanoi is opening to visitors on November 1, featuring over 150,000 objects.

The museum covers 74.30 hectares, including a five-floor building.

Costing VND2.50 trillion and utilising modern technologies, the museum is expected to offer new experiences for visitors who can better interact with the exhibits.

Many old wartime aircraft from the old city centre museum have been relocated to the new site.

Among them was the MIG-21 aircraft 4324, recognised as a historical artefact of national importance. In the war against the US, the jet fighter made 69 flights, faced the enemy 22 times and shot down 14 US aircraft.

The wreckage of a US B-52 aircraft was shot down by Vietnamese troops on December 18, 1972, in Hanoi.

A T54B tank bearing the number 843 led a formation storming the Saigon regime's presidential palace in HCM City on April 30, 1975.

The exhibits are organised based on six themes: the early days of the country's founding and defence; defending the country's independence between 939 and 1858; fighting against the French colonists between 1858 and 1945; the US War from 1954 to 1975; and Rebuilding the country from 1976 to the present.
