Petrol prices were revised up by VND990-VND1,260 per litre from 3pm on October 10 following the latest adjustment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance.
Accordingly, the price of E5 RON92 surged by VND990 to VND19,840 per litre while that of RON95 rose by VND1,620 to VND21,060 per litre.
The prices of diesel, and kerosene went up VND1,100 and VND1,140 to VND18,500 per litre and VND18,790 per litre, respectively.
Meanwhile, mazut oil 180CST 3.5S was sold at VND15,910 per kilo, up VND910 per kilo compared to the previous week.
With this price adjustment, the ministries decided not to use the petrol and oil price stabilisation fund.
According to experts, oil prices rose due to a spike in fuel demand as a major storm hit Florida and the risk of the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
