Park Chung-gun honoured for great contributions to Vietnamese shooting

Former coach Park Chung-gun of the Republic of Korea has been granted the Labour Order, third class, in recognition of his 10-year contributions to Vietnamese shooting.
The honour was presented to the Korean expert at a ceremony held in Hanoi on October 8.
Park has coached national marksmen of Vietnam for nearly a decade. Among his students, Hoang Xuan Vinh won Vietnam’s first-ever Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Rio Games.
The Korean expert also played a key role in Pham Quang Huy's gold medal victory at the 2023 Asian Games and in Trinh Thu Vinh's qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
His contract expired on August 31 this year, and without a proposal he silently left for his native town.
Shortly after that, the Sports Authority of Vietnam made a proposal to extend the contract for another year, but he refused the offer due to personal reasons.
