Winners of UOB Painting of the Year Vietnam announced

The second UOB Painting of the Year Award (POY) went to local artist Nguyen Viet Cuong for his artwork titled “Dòng chảy” which showcases the beauty of Vietnamese landscapes.

As the top winner in the Established Artist category, Viet Cuong received a cash prize of VND500 million and will go on to compete against winning artists from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand for the prestigious UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year 2024 Award.

UOB (United Overseas Bank) is a Singaporean multinational banking corporation. Launched back in 1982, the UOB Painting of the Year is the longest-running annual art competition in Singapore and us one of the most recognised in Southeast Asia.

The 2024 UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year award will be announced at an awards ceremony held in Singapore on November 13.

Earlier the second edition of the UOB Painting of the Year Vietnam was launched in May, with the event providing an opportunity for Vietnamese artists to showcase their talents and gain recognition within the international art market.

In 2023, the competition was held for the first time in the country. The competition has uncovered more than 1,000 artistic talents since its inception.
