Vietnam joined representatives from the embassies of 14 Asian countries in the second Asian cultural festival which was held on September 28 in Romania.
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, State Secretary of Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Traian Laurențiu Hristea said that the event offered a chance for participants to gain an insight into Asian culture. This marks the second time that the embassies of Asian countries, including Vietnam, have held an Asian cultural festival at the National Village Museum in Romania in an effort to promote the wide diversity of Asian cultures. The event highlighting the cultural diversity of Asia draws plenty of attention from locals. The Vietnamese booth showcases photographs and paintings of the country’s variety of landscapes and culture, attracting plenty of visitors, especially youngsters. During the course of the festival, the Embassy of Vietnam in Romania displays a range of traditional dishes such as Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguettes) and Nem (spring rolls), as well as key Vietnamese farm products for exports such as tea and coffee. The event provides a chance for a large number of international friends to come and sample Vietnamese food. Locals modeling Ao Dai (traditional long dress) aim to introduce Vietnamese culture through the fashion show. The Vietnamese booth, along with those of other Asian countries, makes a strong impression on those in attendance at the event. VOV Photo courtesy of the Embassy of Vietnam in Romania
