HÀ NỘI — Health experts shared the latest study in using gene decoding technology to support screening and early detection of ageing and dangerous diseases at a workshop on September 26 in Hà Nội.
The workshop, entitled “Genetic health and anti-ageing”, was organised by Bắc Hà International General Hospital in collaboration with Revita company under the Juntendo University Hospital in Japan.
Speaking at the event, Dr Nguyễn Ngô Quang, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, the Ministry of Health, said one of the priorities in Việt Nam's medical development from now to 2030 is to develop medical science and technology and develop personalised medicine, including genetic research and application.
Dr Quang also said that the health ministry will always encourage and create the best conditions for local units to coordinate with Japanese partners in implementing research and testing the gene decoding technology in Việt Nam.
President of the Japan Anti-Aging Association, Prof. Shigeo Horie shared recent studies relating to ageing, genetic and environmental factors of multifactorial diseases, such as cancer, stroke, myocardial infarction, hypertension, diabetes, allergies, dementia and depression.
Prof. Horie said that diseases such as cancer, heart disease and stroke have a major impact on life of which the main risk factor for these diseases is age. Most patients usually develop the disease after age 50 and the risk of disease increases rapidly with ageing.
“Depending on the genetic code, people suffer from different diseases. Therefore, the results of gene decoding will accurately determine biological lifespan, thereby predicting future diseases and reducing the risk of disease,” said Horie.
Gene decoding technology, owned by Revita company, researched by Professor Shigeo Horie and his research team, has decoded 3.2 billion gene cells to help people understand the unknowns of their physical health condition, nutrition and genetic factors. This is the basis for predicting and planning health care in the right direction. In other words, the results of genome analysis can contribute to predicting some dangerous and common diseases in the current era.
Professor Shigeo Horie's method of combining gene decoding and post-decoding therapy meets a variety of user needs, from newborns to school-age children, adults, and the elderly. The method is performed by taking DNA from a saliva or blood sample, with results available after about two to three months.
With the desire to help Vietnamese people access the technology, Revita has chosen Bắc Hà International Hospital as the only representative in Việt Nam providing health consulting services following the combination of gene decoding and post-decoding therapy.
Bắc Hà International General Hospital is currently the only representative in Việt Nam to provide health consulting services using the gene decoding method.
The hospital will advise and screen patients before sending them for gene decoding and treatment at Juntendo Medical University Hospital, Japan. After the decoding process is completed, the patient will continue treatment at Bắc Hà International General Hospital and be examined online by leading Japanese medical experts.
After having the results of genome decoding, customers and patients will receive in-depth consultation, helping to proactively build a health care plan for themselves through diet and exercise, supplementing nutrients according to their needs to prevent cancer, minimise the risk of stroke and chronic diseases, contributing to helping them have a healthy future. — VNS
