The United States Department of Commerce (DOC) issued its final conclusion on September 20 on the first review of the anti-dumping and countervailing duty order on laminated woven sacks imported from the Vietnamese market, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

In the case, the US Department of Commerce conducted an expedited sunset review within 120 days due to the lack of responses given by relevant respondent businesses.

Under this conclusion, the DOC points out that the suspension of antidumping and countervailing duties on woven bags imported from the nation is likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping margin of 292.61% and a subsidisation margin of 3.02%. Therefore, the duty orders will be extended for another five years.

The TRAV duly recommends that new Vietnamese exporters contact the DOC to request a review for them in order to avoid a general anti-dumping tax rate of 292.61% and a countervailing tax rate of 3.02%.

Earlier on June 4, 2019, the DOC initially launched an order to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on woven bags from the nation.

On May 1, the DOC initiated the first sunset review of the anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders on these products.
