LÀO CAI — About 107 students in Nủ Village, in Bảo Yên District, the northern mountainous province of Lào Cai, which recently experienced a tragic flash flood that claimed many lives, have been received for studies and boarding at Phúc Khánh Primary and Secondary School in Phúc Khánh Commune.
Most parts of the Nủ Village remains still submerged in mud, with a high risk of environmental pollution, affecting students' health and danger lurking for them at landslides on the way to the main school.
Currently, the school in Phúc Khánh Commune has to use functional rooms as accommodation for students. Temporarily, the children sleep on wooden beds, ensuring long-term living is also very difficult.
The school hopes that Party committees, local authorities, and benefactors will help the school do a good job of educating and raising children.
